Religion

To me, religions are projections of the wishes and needs of almost every human these days. Religion is a dream or fantasy that expresses the wishes and needs of humanity. People tend to see themselves as helpless and dependent when faced with the challenges of life. Therefore they try and overcome their problems through imagination; they imagine an idealized being of goodness or power who can help them, someone like "god". I mean face it, the majority of people worldwide need something to look forward to after life, something to get them through the day, and something that makes them feel that they have a purpose. Humanity is not created in the image of god, god is created in the image of humanity. People seek in heaven what they cannot find on earth. Religion is a complete and entire form of wishing. If you choose to live your life by wishing and praying to some sort of higher power, that is entirely nonexistent, be my guess, it just sounds a bit off.
